A relative to Chinese Lanterns and a cousin of Tomatillos, the provocative Peruvian Apple from Mayesh is an ornamental papery pod that stretches the length on tall "black" stems. Peruvian Apples actually resemble "miniature apples" and are in blended hues of black grape to a strong contrasting color of granny apple green. Peruvian Apple is the common name for this particular variety due to in part to its' resemblance to the popular apple shaped Lanterns.
This is a group of annuals and perennials, which are grown for their fruits and for decoration. They grow wild in Europe, America and Asia. The sprawling vine grows up to 2 feet high and spreads 3 to 4 feet wide. .
