Trends in Tabletop Linen
Linens, like flowers, follow fashion trends. According to an article in Special Events Magazine, when it comes to table linens, "nature is the biggest inspiration” for today's event linen hues. “Table linens are strongly influenced by what's blooming in the garden — hot pinks, bright yellows and botanical greens, set against a brilliant sky, which [are] a big part of our color palette this summer.”
Also, exotic prints, vibrant colors and luxurious silk SARI fabrics are the rage in North America. Sari, a traditional fashion for women of India, has been around since time immemorial. These fabrics inspire us to use rich and vibrant flowers in our wedding designs. However, soft, demure prints (shown right) provide the allure of the Renaissance, an era gone by but steeped with romance.
New varieties from Mayesh that work well with
the Sari look are:
1) Tinted Hydrangea
, in pastel blue peach and yellow.
2) Mystery Malva: green transluscent pods with hints of burgundy opens to soft yellow flower
3)
Hawaiian Dendrobium Orchids from South
America. An excellent value.
Sari material can range from the purest, softest silk, to more affordable man-made materials like rayon, and everything in between. So hop on the trend of India chic today.
