Madamne Pierre Oger
Very old rose bred in 1878 by Pierre Oger. It is part of the Bourbon class of roses so much admired by the Empress Josephine, and is a genuine old rose. A sport of La Reine Victoria , it is palest of blush roses, almost white when it is closed, but as it opens a warm flush of pink infuses the petals. The form is urn-shaped, almost a ball when tight, and has a heady strong fragrance.
